Supply Chains: Planning the Transportation of Animals among Facilities

چکیده
Pig supply chains conform differently depending on country; however, the industrial production of pig meat has led to an increasing specialization agents taking part in chain production. Nowadays, pigs are rarely produced one single farm, existence specialized farms devoted breeding, rearing, and fattening being more common since this organization provides sanitary advantages against disease outbreaks. Management strategies such as batch management sow add complexity management. Pigs have be transferred from facility they growing sent abattoir soon reach commercial weight. All these stages involve either independent farmers or integrated some operating with contracts cooperation agreements. This study presented challenge using a stochastic model for planning transportation animals among facilities over time. The optimal schedule transfers between farms, occupancy rate, trucks involved. integrality several variables was relaxed, further analysis performed view inspecting behavior achieving practical decision support. We demonstrated that we can achieve good enough results few minutes and, so, use is feasible.

Supply Chains and Transportation Networks
We overview some of the major advances in supply chains and transportation networks, with a focus on their common theoretical frameworks and underlying behavioral principles. We emphasize that the foundations of supply chains as network systems can be found in the regional science and spatial economics literature. In addition, transportation network concepts, models, and accompanying methodolog...

متن کاملOptimum Production-Distribution and Transportation Planning in Three-Stage Supply Chains
We develop an integrated mixed-integer linear programming model for production-distribution and transportation planning in three-stage supply chains (SCs). The model has two versions, the fully optimized version (FOV) and the less fully optimized (LFOV). Each of the versions determines the optimal quantity of each product to be produced at each plant in each period, kept in inventory at each pl...

This paper describes an order planning system for dynamic supply-chains, addressing the requirements of a make-to-order business environment. A distributed and decentralised information system, based on an architecture of agents and extensively using the internet, was designed and implemented to provide new and more powerful decision support. The system aims at responding to the basic requireme...
